Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) Won the UNIDO Energy Efficiency Award

This achievement is specific to ESCO charging projects of casting machine No.5 and rolling mill 500, and also compressed air systems.

The award is granted to Engineer Iran Pour, the Project Manager, as ESCO representative.

Representatives of many industries and also Iran Ministries of Industry, Mine & Trade and Foreign Affairs and also Organization of Energy Efficiency participated in the aforementioned ceremony. ESCO representative in his specific panel explained the executed projects regarding to energy saving in the company.

It is worth mentioning that UNIDO, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, is one of the United Nations Specialized organizations. The primary objective of UNIDO is the promotion and acceleration of industrial development in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The organization mainly communicates with governments, business associations and individual companies in developing countries.

UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) was established as a United Nations program in 1966, and became a specialized agency of UN in 1985.

Furthermore, UNIDO is the coordinator center in industrial acts of member states, and accomplishes this activity through close linkages and coordination with the regional economic institutes. Its headquarter is located in Vienna, Austria.
